Introducing The New WIM-D2
This Wireless Interface Module has been developed to control luminaires. Controlling the luminaires gives a unique opportunity to discover the efficiency of building environments by generating big data. Data about the current use of the office, warehouse, and shop floor gives essential insight into building usage that business owners have never had access to before. When analysed the data will transform the way buildings are run, reduce rental space costs, energy bills and have a positive impact on the environment and business bottom line.
The Gooee WIM-D2 DALI Dongle provides a wireless interface between DALI systems and the Gooee Building operating System (BoS). It functions on the DALI Bus as a controller providing a communications and sensing interface for a luminaire, utilising a powered DALI Bus for power.
The WIM-D2 can be connected to a wireless network for control via Gooee’s Bluetooth SmartMesh. The WIM-D2 provides power switching, dimming, power monitoring and DALI control functions.
In addition, the WIM-D2 also provides a 2-way I2C interface for the Gooee sensor module providing environment & light quality data. Data from sensors is encrypted locally and communication between WIMs and Gateways or MAPs is encrypted using AES128 within the mesh.

Many companies and platforms try to claim this feature but none are excelling as well as Gooee is in combining the need for big data, analysis and cost savings along with giving customers the flexibility to work with their trusted technical providers.
We are pleased to announce that we are able to offer more options to lighting manufacturers around the world. The WIM-D2 is compatible with Philips SR and OSRAM DEXAL drivers and, in the future, will support reporting from multiple SR & Dexal drivers (up to 8) controlled as a single group. For those buildings already equipped with DALI systems, including DALI 1.0, 2.0 and the latest ‘dongle’ based DALI platforms, Gooee now has the ability to function with them. This is possible due to an update of the WIM-D2 being extended to include all DALI devices. The research and development will continue in order to increase the capability of the module, says Neil Salt, MD & Co-Founder Gooee.
By being compatible with Philips SR and OSRAM DEXAL drivers Gooee is showing the true value of an interoperable platform. Customers can now work with two of the leading driver manufacturers and luminaire manufacturers do not need to change their preferred supplier in order to benefit from Gooee’s IoT platform. Interoperability is essential to ensure customers, from the manufacturers to the end users, are confident that they are working with respected, trusted and known suppliers. Gooee can now offer that as Philips SR and OSRAM DEXAL drivers can now become part of Gooee’s wireless mesh network.
OSRAM DEXAL Partner Components Overview
The successful cooperation between OSRAM and its DEXAL partners ensure that their integrated luminaire components are fully compatible with our DEXL-base OPTOTRONIC® LED drivers when operated together in one system. The DEXAL Technology (Data Exchange for Advanced Lighting) thus enables luminaire manufacturers to integrate a large number of different sensors and light management components, whereas lighting planners greatly appreciate the wider spectrum of choices from which they can select the LMS system and luminaire best suited to their specific project OSRAM cooperates with its partners to jointly develop the smart luminaires of the future.

Gooee has joined Philips Lighting’s SR (sensor ready) Certified Program, which lists companies, components, sensors, and control systems that are certified to work with Philips Xithanium SR driver.
